Owner Karen Kendrick has been at The Orangery since the beginning in 1971. She has worked in all aspects of the restaurant. Chef & Partner, David Hume Pinckney, apprenticed at The Orangery for six years before becoming the Executive Chef; a title that he has held for 18 years. He attended Cordon Bleu in London, appeared on the TV Food Network, Live at Five, Good Morning Tennessee, WBIR Morning and Noon shows, and NOONDAY with Walter Lambert. Chef Pinckney’s recipes have appeared in Gourmet, Southern Living, and the Knoxville New-Sentinel. He is an instructor at the Glass Bazaar and has taught at Williams Sonoma. He was also invited to prepare the "Taste of Tennessee" dinner at the James Beard Foundation in New York City.
